Leisure-net launches new industry networking event for 2016

Leading leisure insight specialist, Leisure-net Solutions is launching a new industry networking event. Innovate 2016 will be a one-day event for organisations looking for new and innovative activities to enhance both participation and income streams.

Building on Leisure-net’s successful two-day active-net conference, Innovate 2016 will take place in Burleigh Court, Loughborough University during March next year.

The day will enable operators to formally meet with up to nine suppliers, maximising their time and building relationships that could help add non-sporting physical activity opportunities to their facilities, such as spas, soft and outdoor play, adventurous family activities and 10-pin bowling.

Suppliers already committed to the new event include Alliance Leisure, which focuses on facility development for local authorities, education and leisure trusts that want to improve their offering.

Sarah Watts, CEO of Alliance Leisure said: “We have been very impressed by active-net and how valuable the event has become in helping to grow our network, and so we are really pleased to support Innovate 2016. It represents a great opportunity for us to share the innovation we deliver with many more organisations.”

Places for People Leisure, which manages 115 leisure facilities, is just one of the operators already signed up to attend the new event. Partnership Director, Richard Millard said: “Places for People Leisure has not only enjoyed active-net, but has gained from both the education seminars and the networking opportunities. As an organisation that is keen to constantly improve the service and offer of our centres we are really looking forward to Innovate 2016.”

David Monkhouse, Joint Director for Leisure-net Solutions said: “active-net has been a great success and recently we have seen a great deal of activity from operators innovating the activities they deliver. We see Innovate 2016 as an opportunity for operators to enhance the reasons for local communities to use their local centre and get involved in physical activity.”
