The Gym Hub shortlisted for marketing awards
Essex-based charitable leisure trust Impulse Leisure has been shortlisted for a prestigious national marketing award for its work on the new budget gym, The Gym Hub in Wickford.
Organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate excellence within marketing. Impulse Leisure are a finalist in the Brand Experience Award category for their branding of The Gym Hub, successful pre-launch campaign and on-going brand experience.
Impulse Leisure’s internal marketing team created a fresh and appealing new brand with the Gym Hub, then developed and delivered an innovative marketing campaign to raise awareness of the new brand in the local area. Using a mix of social media and traditional advertising, the team launched the Gym Hub with 100 members and has continued to attract new customers to the gym with membership currently standing at more than 1,000 members.
Marketing manager at Impulse Leisure, Michael Hurcum, who oversaw the campaign, said: “We are delighted to be a finalist in the Brand Experience category at the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards. As marketers, these awards are the pinnacle of our industry and something we all strive for, so to be shortlisted is great for our team and the brand.”

Our goal was to create a new, progressive gym that stands out in a crowded market and keeps our members engaged and having an enjoyable brand experience. So to be recognised in these awards and given the chance to showcase The Gym Hub brand nationally is fantastic,” he said.
The Gym Hub will be competing against the likes of Virgin Media, Appletiser and The Post Office to secure the award. Winners will be announced on 14 April 2016.
