Refer-all software wins City of London contract
Refer-all has won a contract to support the Sports & Community Development Team at Golden Lane Sport & Fitness with a software solution to streamline its Exercise Referral programme. Based in the Square Mile, the centre is run by Fusion Lifestyle on behalf of the City of London Corporation.
The centre’s Sports Development Officer explained, Leonie Wade explained: “We began our Exercise on Referral programme in January 2013 using a simple Excel spreadsheet. Our targets, monitoring and evaluation has become increasingly in depth to enable us to provide better patient data to all interested parties. As a result, we needed an intuitive system that could review this essential data quickly and efficiently and so introduced Refer-all’s software solution.
“Crucially, because Refer-all’s software makes our Exercise on Referral team more efficient, our patients have benefitted from more face to face time with staff and better communication. For instance, our staff know how many times every patient has attended and when they are due to finish the programme. Communication between staff members has also been improved. The software is easy to use and it is easy to ascertain which tasks are required on a daily basis.”
City of London Sports Development team use Refer-all’s software for its Exercise on Referral programme, which is run from the Golden Lane Sport & Fitness site. To date, the team has focused on database management and reporting.
Wade commented: “The management of data and creating reports are vital services to make our Exercise on Referral programme more streamlined and accessible for all staff. Using these essential tools we can provide a high standard of monitoring and evaluation of the scheme.”
Refer-all offers a fast and efficient referral pathway from healthcare providers, such as Primary Care, Mental Health teams, Cardiac Rehab teams, hospitals and GPs to the leisure trust’s Exercise on Referral schemes via an online form. The referral from the healthcare provider appears instantly on the leisure provider’s dashboard, from where they can use Refer-all’s software solution to move the patient through their service, setting target dates and recording actions completed against the referral, such as contacting the patient and booking appointments via a task bar. The integrated system also provides the leisure provider with information about where the referrals come from.
Fusion Lifestyle’s City of London Exercise on Referral scheme is now looking to expand by creating a programme for City Workers.
Commenting on the decision to use Refer-all’s software solution, Wade said: “We were well aware of the capabilities of Refer-all’s system in terms of its versatility and enhanced data protection, which are both crucial, as it is used by the Exercise on Referral programme in Southwark. The feedback from them was great.
“Refer-all are a highly competent, knowledgeable company who are trying to set a best standard for Exercise on Referral programmes throughout the country. This can only help the programmes receive the recognition they deserve for the effect they are currently having and will continue to have, on the nation’s health. Refer-all is at the forefront of Exercise on Referral schemes and continue to push the standard of monitoring and evaluation to the next level.”
