Mytime Active to create a Bromley Community Cookbook
Local leisure provider Mytime Active has launched an appeal for residents to submit their favourite family recipes for inclusion in a new community cookbook. Mytime Active, is working alongside One Bromley to produce the new community recipe book for the people of Bromley.
The Bromley Community Cookbook will include a collection of healthy recipes that have been submitted by local residents. Each recipe will also share the family’s story about the dish and show picture of the recipe, plus nutritional information. The cookbook will be focussed on delicious, healthy recipes along with a few more indulgent treats. It’s being created in partnership with One Bromley, an organisation that brings together health, care and voluntary services to provide more proactive and personalised care for Bromley residents.
Mytime Active is now calling on all Bromley residents to submit their favourite healthy family recipes for possible inclusion. The Bromley Community Cookbook will hopefully feature recipes from each of the districts in Bromley. Residents can submit their favourite recipes for inclusion in the cookbook using this link: www.mytimeactive.co.uk/recipe-book
“The community recipe project will see us creating Bromley’s first Community Cookbook,” says Debra Weekes, Partnerships Manager at Mytime Active. “We want Bromley locals to submit their very favourite healthy family recipes for inclusion, whether that’s the casserole their Grandma always made, the celebration curry everyone has on their birthday or the chocolate cake that Dad makes for every special occasion. Bromley is such a diverse, vibrant Borough and this recipe book is a chance for us to celebrate the people that make Bromley what it is.”
Dr Agnes Marossy, Consultant in Public Health for One Bromley, adds: “Eating a healthy, balanced diet is an important part of maintaining good health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers, such as bowel, breast and pancreatic cancer. It’s great to see Mytime Active taking a pro-active approach with the Bromley Community Cookbook and I hope people will enjoy exploring new recipes.”
