Lifetime survey highlights commitment of fitness professionals

Lifetime Training’s latest survey of fitness professionals has highlighted their commitment to the industry with almost three quarters wanting to use their passion for fitness to help others achieve their goals. 78% of those questioned would also never consider changing roles.

The survey results showed professionalism is high on the agenda with a real desire amongst fitness professionals to develop their businesses with leadership and management skills (42%) and with support setting up and marketing their businesses (47%).

Mike Jones, Commercial Director at Lifetime Training, commented: “The results of our survey highlight how committed fitness professionals are to both business and training development. At Lifetime, we have always supported them with quality training but we are also introducing new innovations, such as our Online PT diploma, the development of advanced PT education via the PTA Global Maxima course, as well as the free PT Success seminars, which provide business advice and skills to help PTs create a thriving enterprise.”

Dates for future PT Success seminars include Saturday 2nd May in Birmingham and Saturday 16th May in Bristol. The seminars are hosted by fitness industry and business development expert and author, Dave Fletcher.

Educational development was also key: 59% of those surveyed had undertaken further qualifications since their initial training, and 42% wanted to move towards a Level 4 specialist qualification. Nutrition was the most popular specialist field for further study with over half of the survey respondents selecting it.

The ages of those qualifying were also analysed. Interestingly, given the industry’s youthful image, 82% were over twenty four years old when they undertook their training and a fifth were over forty.
