Lifetime launches first Beauty Academy in Birmingham

Lifetime Training, the multi-award winning training provider, has launched its first Beauty Academy in Birmingham.

Located in Church Street in central Birmingham, the Academy is part of an ambitious roll out to cities such as Manchester, London and Liverpool during 2016.

The launch was attended by Academy suppliers Aston & Fincher, Your Salon Store, Monu Skin and Dermalogica, alongside bloggers, prospective students and members of the Lifetime Beauty Therapy Tutor team. The new state of the art Academy features fully equipped treatment training rooms and is just the beginning of Lifetime’s commitment to provide talented therapists for the industry.

Lifetime’s Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma will be provided at the new Academy. The Level 2 Diploma includes ‘traditional’ modules on facial skincare, manicure and pedicure, waxing and make up, whilst Level 3 features body, Stone Massage Therapy and Indian Head massage, Aromatherapy, self-tanning and Microdermabrasion. These are presented alongside business based skills such as working in a beauty related business, reception duties and health & safety practices, as well as value added modules on gelish gel manicures and intimate waxing.

Following research with salon and spa owners, the new course has a keen focus on client care and communication to enhance the client experience, which was identified by beauty industry experts as an area lacking amongst newly qualified beauty therapists. Developing and promoting sales skills is another key area on Lifetime’s Beauty Therapy course.

The Diploma provides blended learning options with online learning as well as practical sessions and assessments, including over 900 hours of guided training. In this way, students can pursue their education at an appropriate pace for them.

Mike Jones, Commercial Director at Lifetime Training, explained: “Our Birmingham Academy is just the beginning of our commitment to provide talented therapists for the industry. Initially we are focused on offering our Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma with the aim, in the longer term, of adding Level 4 Management and specialist courses. To achieve this, we will be partnering with other major brand specialists in skincare and nails to develop these programmes collaboratively.

“At Lifetime we have a vision to create an innovative, flexible learning experience for our students. We are using technology to bring this to fruition, putting the quality of the learner’s educational experience at the forefront of all our course development.”
