Lifetime expands Curriculum Team

Lifetime Training has expanded its Curriculum Team with two new Design Managers. As Curriculum Design Managers, Chris Beck and Vicky Tester are now responsible for the vital management and development of teaching and learning resources for the active leisure sector.

Chris Beck ran his own health coaching business for three years before joining Lifetime Training as a Regional Trainer in 2012. He also managed both public and private sector leisure facilities. Passionate about sport, fitness and learning, Beck has completed a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching as well as a PGCE.

Commenting on his promotion Beck said: “Excellence in education is crucial so the opportunity to develop resources which enable the learner journey to be rewarding and beneficial and to enable learners to maximise their potential as fitness professionals is really exciting. I am really keen to keep Lifetime at the peak of the industry.”

Vicky Tester joined Lifetime in September 2006, having worked in both public and private sector leisure facilities. Tester was initially appointed as a Course Advisor and then promoted to support students as a Desk Based Tutor and then a field based Learner Support Tutor. She has a BSc. in Physical Education and Sports Science and an MSc in Sport and Leisure Management.

She commented: “I have always been passionate about the health and fitness industry both during my studies and when working in industry. I have enjoyed my previous roles at Lifetime supporting learners to become knowledgeable and confident fitness professionals. In my new role, I am dedicated to providing learners with a quality product which is thoroughly researched, technically accurate and in a format that is appropriate for the learner.”

Mike Jones, Commercial Director at Lifetime Training, explained: “At Lifetime, we are focused on providing pioneering and quality training that results in the best possible education experience for learners. By expanding our Curriculum Design Team we can continue to develop the innovative and award winning education for which we are renowned, delivering to over 4,000 fitness professionals every year.”

Lifetime’s focus on quality and innovation recently netted them three Active Training Awards including Best Use of Technology, Large Training Provider of the Year and Apprenticeship Provider of the Year at ukactive’s 2015 event.
