Impluse Leisure’s Gym Hub shortlisted for National Fitness Awards

The Gym Hub in Wickford has beaten off competition from hundreds of gyms across the UK to be shortlisted for a prestigious fitness industry award.

The national awards are organised by leading fitness industry magazine Workout, with support from headline sponsor ServiceSport, and up to seven finalists have been selected for each category.

The Gym Hub will now be visited by a member of the National Fitness Awards’ team who will view the facilities, interview the club manager and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report. This report will help the expert judging panel decide the winning gym.

The winners will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday December 4 at The Athena in Leicester, which will be hosted by fitness entrepreneur and TV personality Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Olympic swimmer and commentator Steve Parry.

“It is a huge honour to be shortlisted for this award within our first six months of being open; we are delighted by the news. The National Fitness Awards are hugely prestigious in the health and fitness industry and for The Gym Hub to have been recognised in this way is a fantastic achievement and testament to the great work of our team and the loyalty of our members. We look forward to meeting the National Fitness Awards team soon and we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed on the night,” says Carl Black, manager of The Gym Hub.

National Fitness Awards’ director Judith Halkerston said: “It’s been another great year for the National Fitness Awards with an excellent standard of entries – the work going on in fitness facilities up and down the country is inspirational and every gym which has made the shortlist should be very proud. Congratulations to them all.

“The NFA team members are busy packing their bags and preparing to travel thousands of miles from as far north as Aberdeen to Cornwall and The Channel Islands in the south to see the fantastic work that is going on up and down the country every day within the health and fitness industry.”

The Gym Hub is Wickford’s new low-cost gym, located in Robert Way on the Heron Industrial Estate. Membership is just £20 per month with no contract.
