If you can move you can Groove

“It’s a mashup of club, Latin and urban styles, guaranteed to get your feet moving and your heart racing! I left feeling pumped, primed and eager to share the experience with as many people as possible!” said instructor Rachel Fortnum, leaving the training for MOSSA’s latest workout launch.

Group Groove® a cardio fusion of club, urban, and Latin dance styles set to the hottest current hits and the best dance songs landed at FitPro HQ this month.

Group Groove’s cool approach is inspired by a variety of dance styles, such as Disco, Club, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Latin, Musical Theatre, African, Swing, Country, and more, all within the one-hour class. The programme includes ten tracks with top-charting songs to get hearts pounding each with a specific fitness aim and expertly choreographed to be easily followed.

The training was open to instructors from MOSSA’s licenced health clubs and leisure centres, who were keen to be the first to get their Groove on with this vibrant blend of fitness and dance fusion.

MOSSA produces in-club group programmes with regular quarterly releases that maintain motivation for instructors and participants. The programmes can be branded by the club for differentiation, feature PPL licence free music and boast an easy transition structure for instructors already teaching other group classes.

Group Groove is ideal for anyone looking for a fun great cardio workout, where they’ll smile and sweat, at the same time.

“Even if you’re not a dancer, you get comfortable with the different styles of dancing,” said Sam Thornton. “I left feeling very happy and confident in the programme and I can’t wait to teach it.”

Holly Lynch added: “It really hits home because of its wide range of music and dance styles. The whole programme has a massive feel good factor that leaves you feeling happy, exhilarated and sweaty!”

Each MOSSA programme and subsequent release undergoes rigorous internal development and testing, as well as three weeks of field-testing using twenty five to thirty instructors and clubs and producing two to three thousand participant impressions.

Cathy Spencer-Browning, Vice President of Programming and Training at MOSSA, explained: “By putting the product in the field for extensive testing, it zeros in on what’s popular and effective both for participants and instructors. The testing system began in 2005 and has taken years to build to this comprehensive level. It’s such a valuable tool to ensure we stay focused on developing programmes with the broadest appeal possible that guarantee participant enjoyment and results.”
