FITNESS4LESS NEW MALDEN UNVEILS NEW LOOK POOLSIDE & SHOWERS

Members of Fitness4Less New Malden are enjoying upgraded facilities following an extensive refurbishment of the club’s poolside and shower areas. Leisure design and build specialist, Createability, managed the project, maximising the impact of a £110,000 budget by selecting cost-effective materials that will retain a fresh look for years to come.

The revamp, which began in last month (September), was aimed at revitalising the swimming facilities at New Malden, which are highly prized by the club and its users. Works included the installation of new male and female showers with modern fittings and improved ventilation. In addition, the flooring, ceilings and lighting in the shower and pool areas were stripped and reworked.

Floor and wall tiles were replaced by high-tech surfaces with smooth, non-slip, hygienic qualities and a long life-span. In the showers, premium Altro Whiterock wall cladding was installed. In this area and the poolside walkways, colourful, resin flooring was fitted.

Pete Evans, Club Manager, says: “This site has been operating as a health club for over 20 years and, although refurbished at various times in the past, the wet areas were starting to look dated. We decided to invest in an upgrade to give members an even better experience.

“We love the fresh, bright palette of the décor and the quality of the fittings and materials chosen by Createability. We feel the scheme achieves our goals of being uplifting, while also being durable enough to cope with the high usage the facility attracts.”

Fitness4Less New Malden managed to stay open for ‘business as usual’ during its remodelling project, keeping inconvenience at a minimum for its customers.

Steve Bradley, Operations Director at Fitness4Less comments: “We were very happy with the work from Createability and how they conducted themselves from start to finish. Being professional and organised, they helped us to keep disruption at our club to a minimum. They have delivered a great result, which has delighted our staff and members.”

Brian Thompson, Commercial Director for Createability: “We were delighted to work with Steve, Pete and their team on our first redevelopment for Fitness4Less. The cost efficient transformation made on the 20 year old club demonstrates the positive impact a small refurbishment can have on the customer journey and experience.”
